Features

Vextend Display creates a customer facing screen for Lightspeed POS (Retail-X). The customer screen functions as a seperate window that can automatically load on a second monitor maximized to full screen. To exit fullscreen mode in Chrome, either hover the mouse near the top of the screen and click the 'X', or press F11 on your keyboard.

To access the Vextend Display settings, click the orange extension icon in the upper right corner of your screen or click the Chrome puzzle piece icon to see more extensions if not pinned.

• Most settings are self-explanatory, or hover over the ? behind a setting to learn more.
• On the Lightspeed Sell screen, the black bar at the top of the screen that allows you to change users will have the following additional options:
  • Mark Closed: Note that this is not a cash management or register closure. This simply displays a message on the customer screen that this register is closed. A light overlay will appear on the Sell screen, but staff can continue to perform any action while marked as closed. To remove this message, click Mark Open. Note that when your register is closed in Lightspeed, the customer display will not automatically detect that status. In other words, the Customer Display 'Mark Closed' is completely independent of Lightspeed's Open/Close.
  • Launch Customer Display: Use this to launch a new customer display. For stability, we recommend only displaying one customer display at a time. If the Sell screen is closed or refreshed, the customer display will usually close automatically, but be aware of extra windows that might not close.
  • Makes the Sell Screen fullscreen. To exit fullscreen mode, hover the mouse near the top of the screen and click the 'X', or press F11 on your keyboard. Likewise, any window in Chrome can be made fullscreen at anytime by pressing F11.

Other Notes:

• Upon initially loading, the window will not show any line items yet, but will display 'Welcome' at the top even if a sale is in progress. This is because the Customer Display builds the sale from messages emitted from Lightspeed. Lightspeed emits a new message whenever you add, remove, or update an item in the sale along with making a payment. The Customer Display will update each time Lightspeed emits a new message, but no data is saved from previous sessions.
• Whether auto created or manually created, the Customer Display will always load on what Chrome considers the 2nd monitor. If it is not opening on the monitor you intend, you can try changing the primary montior in you Windows/Mac system display settings. Likewise, exit Fullscreen mode, drag it to the proper monitor, and re-enter Fullscreen mode by pressing F11 on your keyboard.
• As of now, this software does not support displaying advertisement images on the left side. We are hoping to incorporate this in the future with better support allowing uploaded or synced images as opposed to the old method of needing to paste in links to online hosted files. If implemented, the earliest would be early 2025 as we gauge the usage of this extension.

Privacy & Legal

Vextend Display a 3rd party extension that is not affliated with, endorsed, or supported by Lightspeed. This extension only stores basic extension preferences. We do not access, store, or download any data from your Lightspeed account. All data with the extension is processed locally on your computer and is never transmitted to us except for verifying your domain. Like all Chrome Extensions, Google collects minimal basic usage info, but we do not collect additional stats such as Google Analytics. When you make a payment with Stripe, your name, email, and Lightspeed domain are available to us through Stripe so we can continue to maintain your account as needed.
